Liz Miller, CFP® CFA®, is the 2024 chair-elect of the Board of Directors of CFP Board. She is the founder and President of Summit Place Financial Advisors, LLC, an independent SEC registered advisor, offering personalized investment management and financial consulting to elite families and individuals.
Previously, Liz was a principal owner of the investment manager, Trevor Stewart Burton & Jacobsen Inc. in NYC. In addition to managing portfolios and client relationships, she led the firm’s equity research activities and stock selection of the investment committee. Liz started her career as a mergers & acquisitions analyst for The First Boston Corporation. She went on to become a portfolio manager for Oppenheimer Mutual Funds. In 2008, she founded Summit Place Financial Advisors, LLC to focus on the complex financial needs of today’s multi-generational families.
Liz has been a leader in the development of wealth management. She led the first Private Wealth Management committee at the CFA Society of NY where she was honored with a Volunteer of the Year award and later served on the Board of Directors. Liz also served on the Wealth Management task force for CFA Institute, contributing to the initial curriculum on wealth management for CFA candidates.
Liz received her bachelor’s degree in economics from The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania and a master’s degree from Columbia University.
Leo Rydzewski, JD, CAE
Leo Rydzewski, JD, CAE, has been CFP Board’s General Counsel since January 2015 and is a member of the executive leadership team. Leo led the effort to develop CFP Board’s Code of Ethics and Standard of Conduct and oversees adjudication of it. He works with volunteer commissions to update CFP Board’s ethics standards documents and led the staff effort to overhaul CFP Board’s Procedural Rules that apply to the enforcement of the Code and Standards.
Working with CFP Board’s Standards Resource Commission, Leo developed a comprehensive library of guidance resources that interpret and apply the Code and Standards. As outside counsel, he successfully defended CFP Board in federal court litigation that challenged CFP Board’s ability to enforce its Code and Standards.
Prior to joining CFP Board, Leo was a partner in the Washington, D.C. office of the global law firm Holland & Knight LLP, where he concentrated on complex commercial litigation in areas including insurance and financial services. Earlier in his career, Leo served as a law clerk to U.S. District Court Judge Federico A. Moreno, in the Southern District of Florida.
Leo received his J.D. from Florida State University College of Law, where he graduated summa cum laude, and a bachelor’s degree in economics from Georgetown University. In 2020, Leo earned the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential.
