Unpacking Social Security: A Guide to Addressing Common Questions
Course Information
Content Level: Intermediate
NAPFA Subject Area: E-Retirement Planning

This program will not be recorded.
Course Description

Social Security is an essential component of the retirement planning process, and understanding how to address a handful of key questions can go a long way toward advisors helping clients make informed decisions. At the end of 2021, the Social Security program was providing monthly benefits to about 65 million people, many of whom are going into retirement without a proper income plan.

In this program, advisors will learn to answer clients’ questions about whether Social Security will be there for them, they should start benefits and how much they’ll receive, and what filing strategy to use. The presenter will also review how other income impacts Social Security, and what clients should know about spousal and survivor benefits.

This webinar is sponsored by Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America, a 2023 NAPFA Strategic Partner.
