Course Description

This Genesis webinar is sponsored by LLIS, the exclusive sponsor of NAPFA Genesis.

The One, Big, Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA) introduced IRC Section 530A, allowing for tax-advantaged investment accounts, or “Trump Accounts,” for children under age 18. Attendees will learn about the three phases of these accounts and the associated rules for contributions, distributions, and investments.

The webinar will cover the first period, called the Election Period, when these accounts are opened and there is the opportunity for the $1,000 pilot contributions for newborns plus additional contributions from employers and others. The presentation will also review the second period, the Growth Period, which is until the beneficiary turns age 18, and the third period, the Distribution period. The presenter will compare Trump Accounts with other types of accounts and review some financial planning best practices.

Learning Objectives
  1. Learn about the $1,000 pilot contribution and how to receive it.
  2. Learn about best practices for Trump Accounts for clients.
  3. Compare and contrast the Trump Account with other accounts such as 529 Plans, UGMA/UTMA, Roth IRAs, etc.
