Course Description

An interactive workshop where we explore specific situations in planning with LGBTQ+ families. Some topics will include gender transitions, difficulties with children, marriage decisions, discrimination in families, estate planning complications, exploring options for starting a family, and discomfort with an advisor or firm environment. Other non-traditional family structures will be discussed as well. Bring your knowledge and share the wealth with other advisors so we can provide the best possible care for our clients.

  2. Understand family-building options and gather resources to guide clients in planning expenses.
  3. Apply strategies necessary in navigating emotional family dynamics and leading clients to resolution.

Michelle Wilson

Michelle lives in the woods near a river in rural Ohio. Michelle is openly polyamorous and is part of the LGBTQ+ and kink communities. Her activism in that arena led her to become an advisor specializing in customized socially responsible investment portfolios. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her partner, Gil, her girlfriend, Anastasia, her dog, Theo, and being near her children and their families. On founding a business dedicated to sustainable practices, Michelle is grateful to be doing something that matters and makes a difference in the world.
