Course Description
Have you ever felt like you need the skills of a therapist but were not trained as one? An essential aspect of being a financial professional is working with the humanness of our clients. Handling the human side of people can be difficult and messy and may leave you feeling like you are a therapist when you do not have the qualifications, education, or background to do so. In this webinar, Dr. Kristy Archuleta will utilize her training and experience as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Certified Financial Therapist-I™ to address how to handle difficult situations and mental health crises when you are not a therapist.

Dr. Kristy L. Archuleta, LMFT, CFT-I™
Dr. Kristy L. Archuleta, LMFT, CFT-I™ is a Professor in the Financial Planning program at the University of Georgia. As a pioneer and developer of financial therapy, she is a co-founder of the Financial Therapy Association, the Journal of Financial Therapy, the nation’s first academic program in financial therapy, and Women Managing the Farm. Dr. Archuleta has garnered national and international attention as a speaker and author who has published numerous scholarly articles and co-edited two books on topics related to financial planning, financial therapy, financial counseling, and mental health. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors and three editorial review boards. She is commonly featured in podcasts and major news media outlets, such as the New York Times, Investment News, and CNBC, to name a few, and has won awards for her cutting-edge research and teaching.
