Course Description

Care managers are healthcare professionals who act as central coordinators, assessing a patient's needs, developing personalized care plans, and connecting patients with necessary services like doctors, therapists, and community support systems. Care managers play a crucial role in helping individuals and families navigate eldercare. Attend this panel discussion to learn more about how you can assist your clients with care management and about how to find a care manager, as well as to gain a deeper understanding of issues related to eldercare.

As a wealth manager with Modera, program moderator Jenny Martella, MBA, CFP®, helps clients develop a comprehensive financial plan via a collaborative process. Her clients are busy professionals, business owners, widows or those who find themselves "suddenly single," and those who experience new or rapidly growing wealth.

Jennifer Szakaly, MA, CMC, NMG

Jennifer Szakaly, MA, CMC, NMG, opened the Charlotte-based geriatric care management and counseling firm, Caregiving Corner, in 2005 to assist caregivers of older adults in navigating the long-term care system and to arm them with the knowledge they need to make informed decisions when dealing with a crisis caregiving situation. Her specialties include assessments, referral and placement services, family mediation, care plan development, VA benefits application assistance, mediation application assistance, service coordination, monitoring of long-distance caregiving situations, and crisis intervention.

Chanel Glover, MA

Chanel Glover’s professional background consists of over 14 years in senior living, sales and marketing, banking, higher education, and business development. She started her career in senior living as a memory care director, specializing in dementia care and training. This experience allowed her to better understand the industry and needs of not only the residents but their families as well. Chanel received her master’s degree in gerontology at UNC Charlotte and her undergraduate degree in Business Management at Clark Atlanta University. She obtained her North Carolina Administrators License in 2023.
