Legacy Conversations: With Your Clients, For Yourself
Course Information
Content Level: Foundational
NAPFA Subject Area: J-Communications
Course Description
Steven Covey’s second habit of highly effective people is that they “begin with the end in mind.” If so, a vision for legacy would be a wise place to start conversations about estate planning, but that can be easier said than done. In this highly interactive session, you will explore the notion of legacy as it applies first in your own life, with tools and exercises you can also use with clients to deepen conversations, build relationships and ultimately yield plans that genuinely meet clients’ highest purposes.
Learning Objectives
  1. Get a meaningful and practical perspective on the idea of “legacy” that is valuable both personally and professionally.
  2. Gain a conversational technique for drawing out and leveraging personal stories as a means to identify values and help shape a vision for legacy.
  3. Consider a vision for their own legacy as it relates not only to loved ones, but for how it speaks to the most profound purposes of their work with clients.
