Course Description
Negotiations don’t have to be scary – they can actually be really fun. The key is to be prepared by having a good framework to break down the negotiation into interests.

In this session, presenter Shawn Tydlaska, CFP®, MBA, founder/CEO of Ballast Point Financial Planning, will teach you tips and tricks you can use to negotiate for a higher salary, a larger bonus, and even a higher title for yourself. You can also apply these strategies to your clients to help them negotiate a job offer as an additional service your firm can provide.

Tydlaska learned these skills while earning his MBA from the University of Michigan and through the real-life practice of helping dozens of clients navigate their careers. He will share an Excel file planning template as well as the strategies during the session.

  2. Feel confident advocating for yourself in a respectful way

Shawn Tydlaska, CFP®, MBA

Shawn Tydlaska, CFP®, MBA, is the founder and CEO of Ballast Point Financial Planning. Tydlaska earned his BA from UCLA in 2004 and began working in the broader financial services industry. Wanting to make a direct impact on people’s lives, he studied for and earned the CFP® marks in 2010.
